The Beach Parade

One of our favorite family events of the St. Paddy’s Day festivities is always the Irish Heritage Parade at Tybee.  It’s less than an hour long, always features an eclectic (and very Tybee-ish) cast of characters, and is much more interactive than the downtown parade.  Per ususal, we started our afternoon at a little pre-party before walking out to the parade route. March 2014 142   It’s always hysterical to see what new acts will enter the parade.  You likely won’t see anything like the “Beach Chair Brigade” in any other St. Paddy’s day parades.  They were honestly quite practiced in their routine and techniques.   March 2014 150 March 2014 152 Our 2014 Grand Marshal, Dave Roberts. March 2014 191 March 2014 192 Ah… and then there was the “Barstool Brigade”.  Honey and Sister’s Mister were ready to sign up for this one.   March 2014 194 March 2014 195 March 2014 196 We were excited to see the Coca-Cola polar bears make their debut in the Tybee parade!! March 2014 198 It was such a fun and gorgeous afternoon!! March 2014 209 March 2014 212 Happy St. Patrick’s Day, y’all! xoxo

  1. Looks like so much fun. Reminds me of the 4th of July parade in my hubby's small hometown. So glad the weather was nice. It is miserable today!

  2. the walking groups in your parade are very similar to the ones we have out here in New Orleans! :)

We did our parade yesterday, and even though it rained a little, we had a great time. :)
