So, can I just take a short minute here to brag about my sweet second grader? Honey and I both are so, so, so incredibly proud of that boy. He carried home his third quarter report card and just knocked our socks off with his PERFECT marks. Seriously, across the board. And perfect attendance to boot!! The icing on the cake? The “He is a well-rounded, conscientious student.” comment. Be still my heart.
And while I’m at it, I have to share his latest timed subtraction test. These come home every other week or so and it seriously cracks me up that he gets all of the correct, finishes early and then adds his own problems (and solves them) on the bottom of the test. He comes by it honestly, we are pretty much a family full of dorks.
To round out one of his “best weeks ever”, he played one of his best games ever to end the night with the game ball.
I’ve know I’ve said it before, but I am so very thankful for the opportunity to be this child’s mommy. He delights me and surprises me and challenges me every single day!

Yes, we went to common core last year. I haven't had an issue with it but don't know otherwise :-)
