School Days

It felt a little surreal hanging this baby up on the front door last weekend.  I mean, how in the world is it already time to take down the summer crab in exchange for the big yellow bus?!?!

This was one of the door hangers I’ve been eyeing on Bronwyn Hanahan’s site for a whole twelve months.  I started obsessing over her art last year when I bought the Georgia Tech football and have picked them up over various holidays since.  When she had free shipping on July 4th I took the chance to finally make this one mine!!

She has room on the back of the bus door to add a few names, but I opted for just a “W”.

Now that I’m pretty set on the front door I think it’s time to start gathering up happies for the side door.  *insert Honey’s eye roll here*   How cute would this apple be for the side door?!?

Red Apple Door Hanger - Bronwyn Hanahan Art
Decorating my front door each month makes me happy every time I pull up to the house.  :-)  If you’re wondering, I hang these on coat hangers on a rod in my attic when not in use.  One day I’ll take the camera up there and get some pics.  That will be for the “dixie undelightful” blog.

  1. I love door decor as well Amanda. Living in a townhouse community, I think it shows a bit of my personality. Right now we just have a big G hanging on the front door but I am looking forward to getting out my fall decor!!

  2. The school bus is one of my faves, oh, and the watermelon slice! I love my monthly decorating too, as well as changing out my flags. Have a great Tuesday!

  3. You just HAVE to get up there and show us! It would be like seeing Santa's workshop! :)

  4. That is too adorable. I have really been lax lately about not putting anything on my door….did put up a stars and stripe wreath for Memorial Day through July 4th…which I had to move to a nearby window due a a little birdy family that took up residence. I would love to see your attic…I'm amazed at all the treasures you bring down. There is certainly nothing like that lurking in mine:(.

  5. I discovered Bronwyn through your blog and just ordered the scarecrow, flag, snowman, and chevron pot of flowers (one for every season). I'm counting down the days until I can hang up the scarecrow but you have maybe inspired me to add a few more!

  6. Amanda, you need to check out the new Coton Colors backpack attachment. It is totally you.
