I had the great fortune of sitting down with these two to learn more…

How did you come up with the idea for PKL Cellar?

Lance:  We decided to clear out our basements because we both realized if we didn’t we would die and our children would be on the hoarders show climbing over piles of brass pineapples, china plates and lamps.

Paige:  Lance is completely correct. We love to shop and we love to shop together but our basements were beginning to look like retail stores. We had a choice … Stop shopping or start selling our finds. Clearly we went with the smarter choice! Ha …

Do you have any funny stories from your shopping escapades?

Paige:  We come in contact with the craziest people … And my favorite comment is usually from the small town store owners who always say … “You sure do like Asian!”

Lance: We have to dig through some serious sketch that could be deathly to get to the good stuff.

pk11

What is the one thing you found that was REALLLLLY hard to sell because you wanted to keep it for yourself?

Lance: My collection of chinoiserie greek key dragon china from last week. #ughh

Paige: I have had a few things I didn’t want to sell … Most definitely a pair of vintage brass and crystal sconces from two weeks ago and then a blue and white Asian man lamp from last week. There were these blue and white Staffordshire pups Lance bought that I wanted so bad I could taste them! But … That is the name of the game, we buy to sell!

pk5

How would you describe your decorating style?

Paige: Definitely Palm Beach mixed with a little traditional to keep me balanced!

Lance: Preppy Palm Beach chic

pk12

Who is your favorite IG account to follow?

Lance: I like so many… Kristy Wicks, The Chinoiserie Collective, Pencil and Paper Co, Confetti Style, Stylish Chic and James Andrew.

Paige: I have a few … Jessika Holiday, Emily McCarthy, Lady Chatterleys Affair, Cassie Sugarplum and of course all my besties!

pk10

What is your favorite paint color?

Lance: Green

Paige: Pink!!!!!

pk3

What is your best decorating tip?

Paige: Buy what you love and it always works together.

Lance: Go big and over the top to make a memorable statement.

pk4

You are two of the most colorful people I know. Have you always been this way or did you have a neutral phase?

Paige:  I have always been colorful but I would say I definitely have become more so in our home in the past four years. We painted the entire thing builder beige four years ago to sell it and then our move was cancelled 4 days before it happened.  I freaked out being stuck with a beige home. The color has become more prevalent since then and I couldn’t be happier!

Lance: I have always loved color but I had a serious neutral phase back in 2006.

pk8

What can we expect to see from y’all in the coming months?

Lance: Tons of vintage textiles and vintage silverware.

Paige: We are definitely fine tuning the sale each week.  We didn’t think it would be this successful so quickly!  We are always trying to make it better for our customer and easier for us to ship it all out. We have talked about pop up shops … But that is still on the drawing table.

Just for fun, describe your favorite way to spend a day in Atlanta.

Paige:  My perfect day is easy. Spending all day shopping and eating alfresco. I love a day with nothing on the to do list that I can just soak up those I love and adore mixed in with finding amazing things and eating in the cutest places. Recently we shopped in downtown Stone Mountain in the most amazing area and Lance and I are still chatting about how much we loved it there! Atlanta is an amazing city with incredible food and the perfect little tucked away shops just waiting to be visited!

Lance: Spending the day with Paige combing over new spots in secret parts of the Atlanta.
