Zeta Tau Alpha

I had such an amazing Saturday night catching up with my 1994 ZTA pledge sisters!  These gals are the kind of friends that you can go without seeing for ages and then pick right back up where you left off.

It’s been twenty-one years since we became ZTA sisters at Georgia Tech.   I think we can all agree that our college experiences would have been so incredibly different without each other.  At Tech in particular, it was HARD and there weren’t a lot of women (4:1 ratio, 32 fraternities and 6 sororities).  Many of us came from much smaller places than the middle of downtown Atlanta.  We truly needed each other!  I made lifelong friends during those four-ish years and will always be so thankful and so grateful that I had this opportunity.

When I posted our pic on instagram, we had a bit of a ZTA roll call.  It was so much fun to see how many of you were also ZTAs!!!

  1. You are sisters not for 4 years, or for forty, but for life! (That is one of my college roommate’s favorite quotes, and it’s true.). Gamma Iota / UF.

  2. I also pledged in 1994 (Alpha Gamma Delta); even though it was a different house at a different university, I think we all had the same hair! I live far away from my pledge sisters but I treasure the occasions we are together—this has me wishing for a girls night with my pledge class!

  3. I am a Zeta sister. I pledged in 1958 at Centenary College of Louisiana. We have a monthly luncheon of plus 50 years members.

  4. We did not have sororities at nursing school but then each class was a bit like a sisterhood. In fact, I am meeting my five of my old nursing school besties the first weekend in October in Brevard NC. Don’t tell them but I just received in the mail hot pink and lime tote bags with their monograms from Lulu and Kate on Etsy!! I am going to fill them with snacks and give them as a happy! And believe me I am happy to see some of them who have not not seen in over 30 years!! I am sure we will pick right up as well.

  5. I’m also a ZTA. I was a charter member at my university. We were installed in 1981at Towson University it MD. We are coming up with our 35th reunion and I’ve been asked to spear head it…yikes. (I may be calling on you for some ideas/help and party planning.) My oldest daughter just graduated from Towson in May and is also a ZTA as well as an adviser for another university and my youngest daughter just started her sophomore year at the same University and is a ZTA. The 3 of us share a bond not just as daughters but as zsisters. It something that I never, ever thought was possible.

  6. I was Zeta at 2 different universities. In 1967 I pledged Beta Omega chapter at Union Univetsity. In 1969 I became a charter member of the Zeta chapter at Tennessee Technology University. My daughter never pledged a sorority but I am hoping my granddaughter will become a Zeta. She is only 7. So I have a few years to work on her.
