I’m sure this statement is going to have y’all all “tell me something I didn’t know”, but we LOVE games and puzzles around these parts. Like big puffy heart love. In the summer, we often play cards and dominoes on the porch, but in the winter we tend to lean towards board games and puzzles. In fact, we have about a puzzle a week set up on the banquette in the den. It says out until it’s complete, with puzzlers coming and going at their leisure.
Now, this one is the hardest yet. The be-all-end-all of puzzles. It was so difficult, that the littles really weren’t even interested or able to help. But, Honey and I spent many a night working on it after bed time. It is an aerial map of our home and the surrounding couple of blocks. It was fun to “find” our friends and neighbor’s places on the map! But man was it hard. I gave this to Honey for Christmas 2014 (Sister’s bright idea!) and it took a year for us to pull it out.
This is an awful pic, but it gives you an idea as to all of the trees and rooftops that we had to piece together.
I ordered it from The New York Times Store. You can find it directly HERE.
It was a fun, unique gift for a man that’s incredibly hard to buy for. I figure we’ll bring it out again once the littles are interested in a real doozie.
If you have any great gift ideas for the man in your life, please comment below!! With Valentine’s Day and his birthday and our anniversary and Father’s Day all in the first half of the year I’ll be needing them.

While challenging, that is a great gift idea. I am in the same boat as you, everything in the first half of the year and I have no clue!
You probably already have something like this in your home, but in case not thought I would share my anniversary gift idea for this year. https://www.etsy.com/listing/256624724/5th-anniversary-gift-special-date-sign
My husband’s birthday and our anniversary are the same week in April so I relate to your pain of coming up with good gift ideas in the first few months of the year.

Hubby just got a Jeep Rubicon….so the gifts are endless now. I bought him the Jeep Bestop kit. He loves the flashlights that are magnetic that you can attach to anything metal (like under the hood of a car) b/c why do men find their way to the garage during parties to stand around and look at the car engines? Can you imagine women going into the dining room and standing around their silver chests? Then I also have been pushing Hubby to learn how to perfect grilled pizzas. So the stones, cookbooks, etc,. have been a cute little package deal.
If you like puzzles, definitely get a Liberty Wooden Puzzle! They are really satisfying to put together (so tactile!) and the different shapes are awesome. You can frame it between two pieces of plexiglass and the back of the puzzle is just as cool to look at as the front. They are not cheap, but definitely worth the cost.
I love everything from Mark and Graham. Check out these beautiful key fobs. http://www.markandgraham.com/products/daily-leather-round-key-fob/?cm_re=Win1.17carousel-daily-leather-key-fob
Also, I got these for my husband a few years ago in Charleston. The most adorable rock glasses for drinking Vodka cocktails made out of green Ball mason jars. And oh so southern! https://www.etsy.com/listing/254082262/ball-vintage-style-mason-jar-glasses?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=ball mason jar green drinking&ref=sr_gallery_18
Here’s another one! A big hit at Christmastime: a wallet ninja. I’m serious. My husband loves this thing. http://smile.amazon.com/Wallet-Ninja-Multi-purpose-Credit-Pocket/dp/B00JJVBGU4/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1454085917&sr=8-4&keywords=pocket+tool
Cufflinks made from game used baseball leather or pieces of former stadium seats at tokens-icons.com were a hit. Many other great items, too! Thanks for all your great ideas on the blog!
Since you enjoy puzzles, your family would probably love a visit to an Escape the Room venue. We went this past weekend in our town and loved it! We had to work together to find clues and solve puzzles to break out of a jail cell within an hour. Fun! I think near you it is called Amazing Escape Room.
Love Puzzles! Ever since I was a child my grandmother would help me put them together. My son got his love of puzzles from her also. He is 18 now and we just finished one over Christmas break.
