Two Girls on the Town

I set off yesterday on a little Atlanta adventure in celebration of bestie P‘s birthday.  There’s nothing I love more than going out and doing something.  And a birthday just makes it all the more fun!  I picked her up bright and early and we headed into town.  First stop: World of Coca-Cola!

I usually bring the littles a couple times a year to tool around – mostly catching the movies and exploring the tasting room.  But it was really a lot of fun with girlfriend too!!

We found the best Coke bottle in the lot.  Chinoiserie?  Yes, please!

And…. seeing as I hate to part with our Epcot Club Cool traditions.  I had my unsuspecting bestie join in on a Beverly tasting.  It never gets old.

Cheers, y’all!

After touring the World of Coke and scouring the gift shop for a few items, we scooted over to Skyview Atlanta for a ride on the ferris wheel!  There were all of 8 people on the entire thing on a chilly January morning.  But was a gorgeously clear day and we could see straight to the suburbs.

We rounded out the birthday with lunch at a fave – Taqueria del Sol.  If this were any closer to me, it would have to be the place where I “become a regular” on my 40×41 list.  Alas, I will have to settle for once-a-week-takeout on my work days and the few odd days I get down here with friends and fam.

We were back in time to greet the littles after school.  Happiest of birthdays, sweet friend!

xoxo

  2. I will have to tell my son about the Mexican Restaurant. He is doing a fellowship at Georgia State and is a foodie. Loved seeing you and your bestie having a girl’s day. But you must explain about the tasting that caused the yucky face look. What flavor is that??

  3. Do you have any insight as to why Coke didn’t run their Christmas polar bear campaign this year? I didn’t see a single spot…but I used my little, resin Coke bear in a tiny vignette. :-) Thanks!

  4. Since it had my name on it I had to Google the Beverly drink to see why the sour faces. Interesting story. I was curious as to if they put Beverly on any of the bottles/cans that they did last year? I searched every store and never found one with Beverly on it, I wondered if it was a name they left out because they didn’t want any confusion, or just an unpopular name?

  5. I am 100% copying this agenda for my upcoming “babymoon”. I totally lucked out on a deal on the presidential suite at the Ritz- Atlanta with the special occasion package – club level, champagne, strawberries, rose petal turn-down service, valet, ….oooohhhh-la-la! You would die if you knew what I got this for! We will be going to Scott’s Antique Market by day, then later to dinner at Horseradish Grill and walk over to Chastain Park to see Harry Connick, Jr. The next morning will be relaxing in the hotel. I thought that a tour of Coca-Cola, SkyView, and then a late lunch would be a perfect and convenient afternoon plan before driving home. I was torn on a good lunch spot. I remembered that you had a similar plan…..love the idea of adding in the little Mexican spot that you recommend! Can’t wait to try it and explore those other places too! Love your blog! The countdown is on! :) #swoon
