I’ve been holding on to this goodie for well over a year to share this very week as I celebrate my 40th birthday…

This picture was from the night of Mother’s 40th birthday in 1988.  We’re a Disney family through and through – I mean, how many 40 year olds get to have Mickey deliver 40 black balloons to the restaurant on their birthday?!  Not many, I’d guess.  I’m a wee bit jealous that Mickey didn’t show up for mine :-)

We celebrated Mother’s big day over a family dinner at The Pirate’s House in Savannah, the place of many family events over the years.  Mother and Daddy-O included us in everything and took us everywhere.  I remember this night so very clearly, in fact we all got a good laugh and some reminiscing over it.

The funny thing is that none of us can remember what was in the box, but none of us forgot that night, that dinner, The Pirate’s House, the balloons or Mickey Mouse.  Adventures ARE forever…
