Explore the Beltline {40×41}

Just before our trip, my two next door neighbors surprised me with a lovely outing to explore Atlanta’s BeltLine.  They were so incredibly thoughtful to put together this day based on my 40×41 bucket list!

I added this to my list because I have always been intrigued by the project, conceived by a Georgia Tech student, and it seemed like something every Atlantan should experience.

The Atlanta BeltLine is transforming the city with a combination of rail, trail, greenspace, housing and art. It will ultimately connect 45 intown neighborhoods, provide first and last mile connectivity for regional transportation initiatives, and put Atlanta on a path to 21st century economic growth and sustainability. The beauty of the Atlanta BeltLine is that it offers not only modern conveyances and exciting new development, but it is a living, breathing part of our community; not simply a means of getting somewhere, but a destination unto itself. It offers a chance for Atlanta to redefine what it is to be a neighbor, to be a community, to be a region, and to share all that it has to offer.

Our morning started at the Krog Street Market, a food hall and shopping venue in Inman Park on the BeltLine.  The lavender soda and pastry from The Little Tart Bakeshop were incredibly divine and I can’t wait to head back here to try more things on the menu.

After breakfast, we walked the entire way to the Ponce City Market and back.  It’s a colorful pedestrian pathway, filled with art, fantastic people watching, and great architecture.   We literally did not stop talking between the three of us the entire time!

I am SO happy to say I’ve finally walked the BeltLine and dined at Krog Street Market.  I can’t wait to take the family back  on one of these gorgeous spring weekends!!!

If you haven’t been following along on Instagram, we are just back from a magnificent, once in a lifetime sixteen day trip to Los Angeles, Disneyland and Hawaii!!!!  We left March 25 and returned late Sunday night.  The last two days have been spent adjusting to the six hour time change and catching up around the house.  I have sat down a couple of times (this being one) to get started on a trip report before realizing that Honey had the pictures from the first week all on his laptop …. and he obviously takes that laptop to work.  I cannot wait to share every detail, and am hoping to get on that really soon.  Things will be crazy here through the weekend so it could be next week.  :-(

xoxo

  1. What a fun way to mark this item off your list! We haven’t explored the Beltline, but will have to add it to our (ever growing) list of adventures!

    Cannot WAIT to read all about your trip! xoxo

  2. Welcome home! I am so happy for you that your special trip was a success and I really enjoyed your Instagam. Slowly ease back into your routine, especially after the long flights home. Your recap will be fabulous!
