First Ballet Recital

CeeCee just finished up her first year of ballet and, along with my entire family, Mother and Daddy-O, AND her daddy’s side of the family, I had the great honor of attending her recital last weekend!!

After a little warm up and demo of their usual class, they queued the music (A dream is a wish your heart makes…) and the tiny ballerinas started the show sleeping on the floor.

It was the sweetest, most precious thing watching my one and only niece dance.  I have to say, I experienced something I never have before… seeing a child you love take part in an activity that YOU love.  I guess that’s how Honey has felt all these years watching the boys play baseball.  My heart kind of swelled up with pride, joy and all the love.

We retreated outside with her entourage for a slew of family pictures…

… and then our party of fourteen headed to brunch.  You can see all the details and DIY instructions on how I made her Hello Kitty Recital Bouquet here!

It was such a sweet and girly morning!!  I hope there are many more recitals to come!

  1. How absolutely precious! Such a sweet tiny ballerina! And I adore that Mother and Daddy O wore pink! ?

  2. Love the coordinated pink family members:) The picture with your dad and her leaning on him is absolutely precious.

I too only have sons. Even though I have never participated in dance classes, I have a niece that not only started ballet at 2 1/2 but is a dance teacher and almost 39 now. I love watching her children perform. Each their own gift of talent. All nine of them:)

  3. She is just precious Amanda! I had to laugh at her sleeping on the floor….when my daughter took ballet she and her little cousin both fell asleep on the stage!

  4. This is so sweet and I have to admit that I watched for it all week! ;-) Your photos are simply perfect and CeeCee is gorgeous! Her little moves were adorable and I bet you wanted to cry watching her dance to one of your favorite songs. Just beautiful!

Sharing an interest with a child is one of life’s most special gifts. The hundreds of times I have spent watching “Grease”, having tearoom lunches and crafting, with my friend’s daughter, are beyond measure. Enjoy your time with Princess Lilly Bit! What a blessing she is to your family. Thank you for sharing your special day!

  5. Love all the pink!
Such a precious post and your love for her shines through the photos. How lucky for Cee Cee @ such a young age to have won the lottery—the aunt and family lottery, Family is Everything and it is even more special covered in pink.
    Thanks for sharing.
