Fourteen Years

Fourteen years ago on a unseasonably cold and rainy day in Savannah, I tied the knot with the man y’all know as Honey :-)  There were so many things we loved about our wedding weekend, but our collective favorite was walking out of the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist and finding the Ramblin Wreck there on the sidewalk waiting to take us to the reception!!  This was a surprise wedding gift from Sister and took quite a bit of planning and preparation to bring to fruition.  I can still remember the shock, confusion and then joy and laughter when we exited the church as husband and wife and I saw it there.

I’m so grateful for everything that we’ve done, all that we have, and the little ones that we have been blessed with.  Honey is truly the most patient, gentlest and selfless man I know.

  1. The family photo takes my breath away. It rained just before and during our wedding too…they say it is good luck..and for 40 years, it has been.

    1. We heard that so many times! I was really bummed about the rain that day, but it looks like it was lucky afterall :-) Congrats on FORTY years!!!

  2. Happy anniversary!! Hope you have a fun celebration tonight!! And I mean that in a clean way, like dinner out or something. Okay…I’ll stop writing now.

  3. I remember May 18, 2002 all too well also. We were in Atlanta welcoming our first child into the world at Northside Hospital. How time flies! Happy Anniversary!!

    1. It’s ivory. Thinking I need to head to Target and pick up some soap for Honey. LOL. Our trip pretty much took care of every gift for both of us this year! :-) And yes, she’s the best!!!!

  4. Happy Anniversary! What a fabulous sister you have! Love that she did that for you guys. I graduated from Tech in 2000 and would have loved to have the Ramblin’ Wreck at our wedding, but I married a UGA bulldawg. That would not have been approved :( #housedivided

  5. Happy Anniversary! We also just celebrated our 14th! :)

I also can’t believe how much John is the spitting image of Honey. People tell me that all the time about my oldest and my husband, but I just don’t see it! Maybe I need to look at old/childhood pics!

  6. Congratulations on 14 years! Your wedding picture is beautiful and I love the family picture also. I’ve been married 34 years to my “Honey” (he is actually listed in my phone as Honey!), so I wish y’all many more wonderful years.
