I get asked a lot about where to eat and what to do on Tybee! I thought I’d round up a few of our faves from the week…
Catch a movie or show at the historic Tybee Post theater. We saw Star Wars the Force Awakens!!
Relax, splash, surf, skim board and build sandcastles down at the beach. We usually head to 13th street or 17th street. We don’t love the pier :-)
Ride bikes around the island.
Enjoy the gorgeous views.
We also enjoy the Pirate Playground and Fort Pulaski!!
Now, moving on to our favorite eats…. Tybee Island Social Club is our top lunch spot! You must try the fish tacos, farm plate, peach salad and margaritas.
For supper, our family fave is AJ’s Dockside. Go early on the weekend and definitely sit outside! You must try the pineapple margarita and fried shrimp and scallop plate with hushpuppies.
The Breakfast Club is a true Tybee Institution that has been visited by many generations of our family. Think of it as a Waffle House type operation. Go VERY early as a line often forms down the block.
For a sweet treat, you must pop by Sweetie Pie’s gelato outside of Seaside Sisters (our fave shopping on the island).
And, for take out, our fave is Spanky’s Beachside fingers and spuds!! Get the honey and honey mustard sauces!!!
We also love lunch and dinner at Sundae Cafe, pizza takeout from Lighthouse Pizza, and ice cream from Sugar Shack. And, if you’re up for a little bit of a drive, hop on over to Whitmarsh Island for Joe Loves Lobster Rolls!! MMMMM….
It sure is good to be home!!
xoxo
