Y’all are in for a real treat today, as we are going to get a peek inside at Ellie & Elizabeth. Elizabeth (and her darling pup Ellie) are relatively new to the blogging scene, but they had me at hello. They blog about construction of their French country home, share stories of momma survival, and offer a wonderful dose of faith and inspiration with a hearty side of humor. Sounds great right?! Without further ado, let’s head on in.
This lovely space sets the tone for the rest of this gorgeous home. Actually, scratch that. It’s definitely the absolutely stunning exterior entry. So, let’s just say that the foyer is a continuation of all of that goodness. I love so much about this space – the gorgeous mirror, chalk painted chest, the lighting. Oh, that lighting! Elizabeth makes full use of her fabulous ceiling height, which I love. I also adore the books on the entry table. I have books on mine too.
This kitchen makes me want to scrap mine and start over. I am coveting the diamond glass in the upper cabinets. I also adore the hood over the stove and the sweet light over the fabulous farmhouse sink. Like Elizabeth, I love mixing up cabinetry in the kitchen. I think the painted island makes it seem a lot more like furniture than a functional piece of kitchen cabinetry from off the shelf. By clicking over to her blog, you will see all of the fabulous storage solutions she built in to the space and her tips for building a kitchen.
BOY’S BEDROOM
I find good boy’s rooms so hard to come by on this world wide web. Good girl rooms are a dime a dozen, in my opinion, while most of the boy rooms are an explosion of superheroes and vehicles and sports. I absolutely adore what Elizabeth has done with “Bear’s” room. Her use of space in this tiny room is outstanding and, come on, what boy wouldn’t love that built in bunk with little secret hide out on top?!
There is a lot I adore about this boy’s bath but let me start with the “x” cabinet below the sink. Such a small detail with a huge impact. And I just have no words for the incredible claw foot tub (and the hysterical story behind it.) It’s a great piece that fits right in this boy space. The lucky number 13 is a not only a nice decorative item, but something special to the kid and family that call this place home. Those are the details I always relish in people’s homes.
I sincerely hope that you’ve enjoyed the tour of Ellie & Elizabeth. Pop on over there for more pictures, sources, and some pretty good storytelling. Many thanks to Elizabeth (and Ellie) for letting us tour their delightful home!
