Epcot Food & Wine Festival

The older the boys get, the more time we seem to spend in Epcot.  Which is fabulous!!  We visited three times during our September trip and really enjoyed ourselves.

First things first, I was able to score fastpasses for the new Frozen Ever After ride.  It’s REALLY good!!!  It is on the same ride track as Maelstrom and we all enjoyed it a lot.  My crew didn’t want to wait for Anna and Elsa meet and greet so I can’t speak to that one.

Test Track remains our family fave ride in this park and we did it a couple of times on our visits.  One of our days we rode over on the Monorail with friends from school and were able to hit a couple of rides with them.  The boys were so excited!

We were laughing (on the verge of crying) at this peek into our future… the boys driving while playing Pokemon Go.  It will be here too soon.

Spaceship Earth is one of my favorites and we hit that one a couple of times too.  Honey things his Phoenicians shirt is hysterical.  It really kind of is.

The Land is Honey’s fave ride and now that it is no longer a tier 1 fast pass we are finally riding it again.  LOL.  It IS pretty interesting though.

Outside of those few rides, we spent the vast majority of our time eating around the world for the Food and Wine Festival.  They littles’ loved it so much the first day that we ended up cancelling our table service meal for our next visit to do it again.  We were surprised and delighted when after doing our first fast pass that second day they decided to ditch the other two in favor of MORE international bites.  It was SO much fun!!  They tried TONS of different things and really didn’t dislike anything.

Honey loved the potato latkes and samon and tuna.

I loved the mac and cheese and hummus fries.

The littles’ loved everything cheese.  Cheese in Ireland, cheese at other stands, cheese soup in Canada…. you get the drift.  They also loved the empanadas a TON.

In spite of the total engorgement in the World Showcase, we still had make a pit stop at our fave little ice cream shop in France.

We used the DVC lounge in the Imagination Pavilion multiple times as a respite from the heat and for cold vanilla Cokes.

I think one of our most memorable Disney moments ever was a really simple one.  We got caught in a DOWNPOUR and the littles’ begged us to just walk through it rather than taking cover like everyone else.  It was so odd and fun to literally walk through an empty park in the drenching rain with no cover whatsoever.  We laughed and splashed and danced and thought it was the funniest thing we’d ever done.  When we reached the front of the park we found Daisy had run for cover too.  We promised not to get her wet if she’d pose for a pic with us so that we could remember this day!

Thanks, Epcot, for the grand memories.

  1. Did you have any absolute favorites? We will be in Epcot on Tuesday and I don’t want to miss anything wonderful! Can’t wait to hear more about your trip!

  2. I can’t believe The Land has fast pass! When I was a kid my dad and I would aways ride it because the poor person running the attraction looked bored to tears and we never had to wait. :P

  3. Even though our kids are young, Epcot is right up there with MK for us! We have always planned a full day there. And funny you say that about the rain- last October it poured on us- like water squishing out of our shoes- but we powered through and has the absolute best day!
