Musings

Bestie P and I are going on our third year of birthday dates.  For hers a couple of weeks ago, we headed out for dinner and a movie.  I took her to Your Pie, which I adore, for the first time.  It’s so yummy!  And then for the main event we saw Singin’ in the Rain on the big screen!!  It was such a wonderful movie and very timely with Debbie Reynold’s passing last month.  Both Regal and GTC are doing a whole series of oldie movies this year and I have flagged a few more that I can’t wait to see!

This baby and one of his oldest friends (“Cookie” and “Nutty”) had us belly laughing with their Pie Face antics at a family dinner a few week ago.  I wish I had a pic of both of them together because they were hysterical.

Cookie and Nutty are so tight, in fact, that she loaned him her granny wig, glasses and cane for his 100th day of school.  Bestie M and I Iook forward to having their 100th day of school pics side by side in their wedding video one day :-)

The other baby was looking awfully shaggy after Christmas….

… but after a trip to the spa she was looking nice and tidy.  And about half the size.  HA!

We had a family birthday celebration last weekend for Mother and CeeCee.  We ordered take out and dined on cupcakes.  The adults got to catch up while the littles played – it was perfect.

This little one has been talking about her fourth birthday since the summer.  She was so excited because she would “finally be a person and can drink cokes and wear lipstick.”  <3  Since I’m the aunt, I only thought it appropriate to give the baby her own six pack of mini cans and a tube of real lipstick.  She was SOOOOOOO excited!!!!

SO many of you messaged me after seeing CeeCee with my old Peaches and Cream Barbie.  I had no idea that she was so loved.  She was absolutely the most beautiful Barbie I ever had and CeeCee took right to her.  She calls her, and her other Barbie dolls, “Barbie Barbia Doll”.

My new fave snack is this thai coconut curry hummus from Publix.  It’s spicy and GOOD!  I love it on a thin cucumber slice.

Also on the food front, I tried to rein it in after Christmas.  That lasted about a week.

The new Magic Bands 2.0 are here!!!!!!!  We can’t wait to give them a go next month.

Busted.

I don’t know about y’all but it feels like January just flew by.  I’ve still got to pull out my Valentine’s stuff here!

  1. January DID absolutely fly by – I keep thinking in disbelief that one whole month from 2017 is gone!

  2. How did I miss CeeCee with the Peaches and Cream “Barbie Barbia Doll”?? I had one too as a kid and she was one of my favorites. I played with Barbies longer than I care to admit. My little preciousness loves them now too and it makes me so happy. If only I still had all of them!!

  3. Keep an eye on those magic bands! My sister is there this week and in the weeks leading up to departure, reservations and fast passes would randomly disappear from her account. And while there on Monday, she had a Fast Pass go missing for a ride from one of their 5 bands. Twice. Must have a lot of kinks to work out!

  4. Some of movie theatres in my area (central VA) are doing special screenings for the 30th anniversary of “Dirty Dancing”. I cant believe its been 30 years and yet it never gets old.

Happy Belated Birthday to Cee-Cee and your Mother!

  5. I still have that same Barbie and all of my Barbie’s I had growing up! Those were the best times. My daughter, who is now almost 20, played with them and I hope to have a granddaughter one day to pass them too. CeeCee is adorable! Enjoy these moments when they are young. Always look forward to your posts.
