Around Atlanta {GT vs UGA Spring Classic at SunTrust Park}

We were SO excited to learn that the tradition of the Georgia Tech versus University of Georgia Spring Classic baseball game benefiting Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta was not only continuing this year, but moving to the new Braves stadium at SunTrust Park!

My thoughtful neighbor actually treated me and our other neighbor to lunch down at The Battery the week before so I already had the chance to check it out a little.  But, this was the rest of the family’s first time coming over here and they LOVED it as much as everyone else around town!!  It’s really an incredible facility with dining, shopping, and residences along with the stadium and concert hall.  We arrived a bit early to meet up with college friends.

Just outside of the gates we ran into Buzz himself!!  He’s such a fun mascot.

The dining options inside the stadium are also excellent, but I knew before we got there that I wanted the Holeman and Finch burger.  It’s soooo good!!

Even though we hate that the D family cheers for the bad guys, we still had to sit with them for the second half of the game.  These two have been buddies since birth!!

It seems like there isn’t a bad seat in the house and we had a great time, even though we missed putting up the W by one measly run.

The Spring Classic happens every May and is a fun family event for not just Tech and Georgia fans, but really for all baseball fans.  Spirits are high, the crowds aren’t too bad, and there’s a great chance of interacting with one of the players.

Thank you to our dear friends and fellow alums at Hunter Technical Resources for bringing us along this year.  Honey has worked with them FOUR times now on securing new jobs and always has a great experience.  If you’re looking for a job OR looking to hire in IT, they are worth checking out.  :-)

With that, GO TECH!!  THWGA!!!

  1. Our boys are dying to take in a Braves game at the new stadium! Hopefully we’ll make it out there this summer!
