As I shared yesterday, we recently made the quick drive over to Columbia, South Carolina for a long weekend! We were brought to town for a lacrosse tournament but we extended our time on the front and back ends to experience the city. Here is how we planned our stay:
Friday Pre-game: University of South Carolina + South Carolina State House
Weekend Lax in Lex: Lacrosse tournament in Lexington
Sunday/Monday Post-game: Columbia Fireflies Game, Riverbanks Zoo, South Carolina State Museum
Weekend Lax in Lex
Part two of our road trip, and the reason we were originally brought to town, was for a lacrosse tournament located just outside of Columbia in Lexington, SC. We were at the field much of Saturday and Sunday morning and John’s team brought home the championship for their age group!!
I did sneak off the field between games for a lunch with a dear blog reader friend. We met at Flight Deck for food and a whole lot of good conversation. It was such a treat! Thank you for your time and friendship, Judy!!
Another Lexington favorite was Pelican Snoballs. I got my standard sour cherry – pina colada and loved every bite. They really hit the spot on a hot day.
I know that Lexington brings in a lot of visitors for tournament weekends and their proximity to Columbia makes it SO easy to explore SO much more outside of just the sports fields.
I’ll share the last part of our visit tomorrow!!

Thank you!
Amanda, I loved meeting you at the Flight Deck for lunch. I was so excited to finally meet you and can I just say, you are even more precious in person than you are on your blog. Our two hours together flew by and I’m sure we could have chatted another two hours. Hope to see you again. I’m so happy we are now “real” friends! Much Love, judy
I loved it as well! I hope to see you in real life again soon!!! xo
