Rivalry Weekend

For our favorite football game every other year (we don’t travel to Athens, ha!), Georgia Tech was home versus Georgia for rivalry weekend!

It was an absolutely stunning day to tailgate and roam around campus.  This is the freshman dining hall.  My first dorm is just to the left of it.

CeeCee was dressed in white and gold, just like our alma mater instructs!

I’ll be honest, the game was rough.  But, I’ll be even more honest… I had a FABULOUS time tailgating, socializing, and seeing old friends.  The actual football part is really just a side bar for me.  :-)

Honey was not at all pleased with the outcome but managed to take off his game face and put on his picture face for a minute :-)  No matter the outcome, we always leave The Flats feeling proud to be Yellow Jackets!

Funny story… twelve years ago we were just across the way at Emory in a room overlooking Bobby Dodd stadium with our brand new baby.  John surprised us two weeks early and we didn’t even have time to pass along our tickets.

What’s the good word? THWG!

  1. Know what’s funny? A DIE HARD Dawg friend (I’m a UGA alumni, too) and I went out for coffee earlier in the week and I asked her if she was going to the game. She responded, “OH no. We never go to the Tech games in Atlanta. We only attend that one every other year and we plan our Thanksgiving travels so that we’re out of town the year that they’re not in Athens.” So funny! I’ve been to the game at Bobby Dodd and it was the COLDEST I have ever, ever, ever been in my entire life.

  2. Ha! I should have totally texted you when we got hopelessly lost looking for our car on campus after the game. Although the boys did enjoy getting a look around campus since we all hope that at least one of them gets into Tech!
