Something You Need {Snow Screamer}

One of the boys’ four Santa gifts each year is “something you need”.  Now, Mother and Daddy-O got a big laugh when two of these big snow sleds showed up on their front stoop a few weeks before Christmas.  I’ll admit, I had my doubts as well that the sleds would be able to be pressed into use any time soon.  But, after a few years of snow-mageddons creeping up on us and the kids having to take turns on the neighbors sleds, we wanted to be prepared.  Also, it’s not like you can just pick up a sled at last minute at Target in Georgia.  I did a little research and the Snow Screamers got pretty good reviews.  The boys were really excited about them, but then had to just watch them sit in the garage for weeks on end … until last week!

We had another surprise snow storm come through Atlanta!  This was pretty incredible since we had just had snow in December.  Now, it was only about an inch and not great sledding conditions, but the boys had a fantastic time trying.  I can’t vouch for the sleds personally, but they survived a whole day of a whole slew of boys riding them and the kids gave glowing reviews.

As for me and the pup, we left the boys to their fun and stayed warm inside.  :-)

Not that I’m counting, but we’ve only had 8 days of school since December 21…  If I could put an emoji in this post it would be the face with the eyeballs of disbelief.  HAHA!

  1. It was SO cold this time around that we had snow. My kids couldn’t stand to be out for too long but we did get some sledding in which was fun as we had been at Disney the last time we got snow here. I will have to check out these sleds as they look a lot nicer than the cheap ones I got at Ace Hardware 2 years ago.

    1. Darn! If there were sleds at our Costco we missed them. Doubtful though. Sometimes the smaller hardware stores will carry them. But they loved having them and I suspect we will have them a long time with our once a year snow!

    1. I feel like everything is back in full swing today. I just looked at the calendar for the week. Yikes. :-)

  2. We just had a 10 day weekend, as a school bus driving friend of mine called it, here in middle Tennessee. We had just about three inches of powdery snow. The dog and my son spent a lot of time enjoying the outside. My daughter and I just chose to drink hot chocolate and watch Netflix.
