On My Bedside {Lie to Me}

I just finished Lie to Me by J.T. Ellison and really enjoyed it!  Like many of my recent reads, I’d put it in the dark, psychological thriller category.  The interesting thing about this one was that it is told by multiple points of views and they all intertwine flawlessly.   It also jumps back and forth in time, which has been confusing in other reads, but works well in Lie to Me.  This one had all the hallmarks of a great book by my standards, unexpected twists, enchanting characters, a this-could-almost-be-true story line, and an ending I didn’t see coming.

Here’s the official synopsis:

Sutton and Ethan Montclair’s idyllic life is not as it appears. They seem made for each other, but the truth is ugly. Consumed by professional and personal betrayals and financial woes, the two both love and hate each other. As tensions mount, Sutton disappears, leaving behind a note saying not to look for her.

Ethan finds himself the target of vicious gossip as friends, family and the media speculate on what really happened to Sutton Montclair. As the police investigate, the lies the couple have been spinning for years quickly unravel. Is Ethan a killer? Is he being set up? Did Sutton hate him enough to kill the child she never wanted and then herself? The path to the answers is full of twists that will leave the reader breathless.

Thank you, once again, to my friend Andie for popping this one in the mail after she finished it.  <3   I have already passed this one along to a friend.

On deck for me is The Handmaid’s Tale.  I would love to know what is on YOUR bedside these days!

  1. I just finished “The Pillars of the Earth”, and I’m just starting “The Cider House Rules”. I’m having a little trouble getting going with it – hope it picks up a little, quickly!

    Happy weekending! xo

  2. Just ordered Lie to Me for spring break travel. Thanks for the suggestion!
    I’m about to start The Masterpiece by Francine Rivers (I love her books so much). I finished The Last Mrs Parish last month, it was pretty entertaining.

  3. My youngest daughter just read “The Wife Between Us” and loved it. I am beginning “The Marriage Lie” by Kimberly Belle which was recommended to me. I added “Lie to Me” to my Amazon wish list!

  4. “Still Me” by Jojo Moyes (it’s the third one in the “Me Before You” series…..)

    In thrillers, “The Gift” and “The Woman in the Window”.
