Musings

Spring came rushing in, didn’t it?!  After a crazy chilly April, I feel like we skipped straight to swim suit weather.  I have loved working right here from my very own home this year so so so so so so much!!

I put these together for a friend needing a little cheering up.  There’s nothing like a little bouquet of flowers in a mason jar to make someone smile.

This puppy was VERY naughty with all the rain we got a few weeks ago.  It made for prime digging conditions.  I swear, she’s like a toddler.  When things get too quiet for too long you know they are up to no good.  Also, have not made one iota of progress of the bathroom reno I said we were doing this year.  UGH.

This cutie came across the Baby Fans instagram and I almost couldn’t remember her being so little.  It all goes by too fast.  All of our kids modeled for our friend’s business at one point or another.  I need to dig up John and Whit’s pictures sometime.

Did you know that we have our very own Georgetown Cupcake in Atlanta?! And they make the Lilly cupcakes!!

Speaking of other favorite Atlanta treats, my very favorite bakery of all is the homegrown McEntyre’s Bakery in Smyrna.  My boys love their doughnut boys.  I have also ordered them in advance personalized with names for team snacks and they are a huge hit.

John’s select lacrosse team was the state runner-up this spring!  He didn’t get a whole lot of playing time but improved his game a lot and was thrilled to have even made the team as a sixth grader.  That season wrapped up last week and we start practices for his summer team next week.

John’s games took us all over Atlanta.  If you’ll remember, I used to seek out good donuts on these excursions.  Now I look for Your Pie Pizza. HAHAHA.  I forgot how much I love it.

Target has a darling collaboration out with Junk Food and there are Disney things ALL over the store.  I practiced great restraint and only picked up these paper good for when we head to Fort Wilderness this fall.

I volunteered for this one’s field day last week.  I love the end of school year festivities.  I remember them so well myself.  We are on our final countdown and cannot wait for summer.

She knows the nice things.  You never find her curled up in my boy’s piles of dirty socks and sports paraphernalia.  I can’t hardly blame her.

We (ie. Honey and the boys) spread 200 bales of straw in the last couple of weeks.  She just loved playing mountain goat.

I hope you have a lovely weekend!

  1. Awww! Love your updates and adorable pics! I hope you and your sweet family have a great summer!!

  2. These are all so cute! Happy Mother’s Day, Amanda. Your sweet angel smiles down on you and guides the way with beautiful light. May God bless your family always. <3

  3. I just love that y’all use pine straw in flower beds up there. I absolutely love the look of that. Down here in Texas (Houston area) everyone uses yucky ol mulch. Ugh. I grew up in the “Piney Woods” of East Texas and everyone gets rid of all the pretty pine straw. I need to get my hands on some!
