On My Bedside {Every Last Lie}

I can’t remember the last time I watched five minutes of tv, but I’ve been devouring books!

One of my latest reads was Every Last Lie by Mary Kubica.  It is not as good as her previous bestseller, The Good Girl, but I enjoyed it.  I found it interesting and suspenseful, and legitimately couldn’t figure out what truth and what was fabricated.  And, for being a tragic story in the psychological suspense genre, it was strangely relatable.  It is told with every other chapter alternating between the husband and the wife.  The wife’s story is told from the present, while the husband’s narrative starts back in history and works its way forward.  I realize that sounds confusing but it is easy to follow.

Clara Solberg’s world shatters when her husband and their four-year-old daughter are in a car crash, killing Nick while Maisie is remarkably unharmed. The crash is ruled an accident…until the coming days, when Maisie starts having night terrors that make Clara question what really happened on that fateful afternoon. Who would have wanted Nick dead? And why? Clara will stop at nothing to find out—and the truth is only the beginning of this twisted tale of secrets and deceit.

I have a few more to share and another one I’m in the middle of.  What’s on your summer reading list?

  1. I’m not watching any tv now either (and don’t miss it) with the exception of one new show – Yellowstone (with Kevin Costner – Wednesdays at 10). I LOVE it!

    I just finished ‘My Name is Memory’. It was okay. I’m currently reading ‘The Mothers’ and enjoying it! Next up is ‘Tell the Wolves I’m Home’.
