Two New Kennedy Podcasts I’m Loving

I’ve mentioned a few times here on the blog how much I love podcasts.  I listen to them almost exclusively in the car (unless the kids are in the car where it is Whit > Hamilton, John > Drake, Both > Prime Country) and always on my walks.  Honey thinks it is bizarre that someone can exercise to a podcast but I’m living proof.  :-)

My latest binge is all related to the Kennedys!  Now, I know I’m solidly middle-aged, but I don’t know much about either of these topics and they have had me captivated.

The RFK Tapes

The RFK Tapes delves into the 1968 assassination of Robert Kennedy.  Authorities have claimed for the past 50 years that Sirhan Sirhan acted alone.  He did, after all, confess to the crime and is serving a life sentence.  However, others will say that there is evidence of a larger conspiracy or, at the very least, that there was another shooter.  Over ten episodes, The RFK Tapes uses original police recordings and new interviews to help understand what really happened that day.

Cover-Up

Cover-Up is yet another fascinating Kennedy tragedy.  This podcast investigates what really happened in 1969 when Teddy Kennedy’s car crashed off a small bridge on Chappaquiddick and killed Mary Jo Kopechne.  Over seven episodes, this PEOPLE podcast explores unanswered questions around that night.

If you have any favorite new podcasts, I’d love to hear about them!  You can find some of my other favorites here and here.

  1. I’m currently listening to The RFK Tapes, too! Fascinating! I’m also listening to Buried Truths, which is kind of hard to listen to, but I’m enjoying it.

I love In the Dark, Someone Knows Something, Breakdown (AJC podcast) and I’m looking forward to the new season of Up and Vanished.

  2. I’m also a big fan of running to podcasts! Nothing is a better distraction, I totally get it.

I have been loving “The Habitat”. It’s the true story of six people who simulated living on mars for a full year as part of an experiment (I think by NASA). It uses the tapes they recorded during the time they spent isolated from the rest of the world.

I also really liked Mystery Show by Gimlet. This one is a few years old but worth checking out if you haven’t heard it!

  3. The Oxford English Dictionary defines middle age as the years from 45 to 65! As a fellow 42 year old, I say hush that middle age talk! I haven’t gotten into podcasts much, but I will have to check them out. I’ve always been fascinated by the Kennedys.

  4. If you haven’t listed to In the Dark, you must! I’m a podcast junkie, and Season 2 is the best I’ve ever heard. Season 1 is great too, but really hard to listen to as a mom (although if you’re still listening to Truth & Justice you can handle it). Accused is also good. I’ll have to check these out!

  5. I am huge fan of true crime podcasts! I’m currently listening to Crime Junkie. I also like Up and Vanished. It’s based in Atlanta and I just finished listening to “Atlanta Monster”. I will definitely try out the other ones you suggested. Have a great week!
