After breakfast at the Hotel Eisenhut, it was time to bid a farewell to charming Rothenburg. We boarded our motor coach and were entertained with a fun team trivia game and Kinder Joy candy on our ride.
MORNING IN BAMBERG
Bamberg is a unique and superbly maintained masterpiece of urban design that sits on seven lush, green Bavarian hills each with its own church. A center of imperial and episcopal power for almost a thousand years, Bamberg is often referred to as the Rome of Franconia. A costumed guide gave us an entertaining and informative walking tour of the charming city.
TRAIN JOURNEY TO BERLIN
After lunch in a darling cafe, our guides whisked away to our train for the scenic journey to Berlin. All we had to do was leave our packed luggage outside our room when we went to breakfast in Rothenburg and it gad already magically appeared in our beautiful room in Berlin by the time we did!
REGENT BERLIN
Arriving at the Regent Berlin was just wonderful, particularly after not having had air conditioning the two previous nights in Rothenburg. This is a Virtuoso hotel and lives up to the standard!
DINNER IN BERLIN
We had a few free hours to rest and recharge in our rooms before meeting our guides for a very brief orientation of Berlin during our short walk to dinner. I love that they always give us ideas on how to fill our free time – whether we are looking for adventure, relaxation or dining! This is literally a trip where you don’t have to think or worry about a thing.
Our dinner at Meisterstuck was my favorite of the entire trip, and we have been to a LOT of fabulous places. We were seated at long tables in a beautifully lit courtyard and served a wonderful variety of modern German fare. I should mention that at all of our included meals – be it breakfast, lunch or dinner – everything is included from the food to the wine to the beer to the gratuities.
After dinner we hit the hay. It was a long and fun filled day!
