As hard as it is to believe, it is August 1 and we are headed back to school here in Georgia. Like last year, Mother made “team tassels” in Whit’s school colors to give his teacher and principal.
Mother can make these in any two color combinations – just send a link to your school colors when ordering if they are hard to describe and she will do her best to match them. Think… back to school teacher gifts, school spirit days, athletic events, sorority engagements or just your two favorite colors. In other Dixie Delights Shop news, we are currently only selling Mother’s handmade jewelry items. I am ecstatic to be able to say that my travel business is doing well and I just can’t keep up with the etsy shop. It may come back at some point, but I don’t have a date in mind for that just now.
I made a color coordinated tag for Whit’s teacher, but also a generic printable tag for all of you!! I envision it printed on or mounted on a piece of scrapbook paper or cardstock in the team colors.
At Whit’s school, both his teacher and the principal are brand new and both were extremely positive, energetic and friendly when we met them in person on Eagle Day. If that is any indication, fourth grade should be an exceptional year! I particularly loved his teacher’s short list of things to bring the first day: a favorite book, a healthy snack, a water bottle and, most of all, a smile and a hug for Miss S. <3
For John, it goes without saying that it would have been of utmost embarrassment to arrive at Junior Raider Day with any sort of gift in tow. I mean, my presence alone was probably all the seventh grader could bear. :-) He can be surly at home but I took note that he greeted his new homeroom teacher with a smile, direct eye contact and a firm handshake. It’s the little things, y’all.
