Christmas Around the Disneyland Resort

I spent a magical four days in Disneyland in early November and still have so much to share here on the blog. I was lucky enough to catch the beginning of Christmas at the Disneyland Resort and have to say that I was really impressed.

Disneyland Theme Park

The Disneyland Resort is much, much smaller than Walt Disney World on the East Coast, but they pack in so much joy and magic during the holidays! I will venture to say that they take it even further than over in Florida! In addition to pretty trees, you will find loads of characters in Christmas attire, sweet holiday treats and overlays on favorite attractions.

Characters in Disneyland are much more accessible than in Walt Disney World, and it is not uncommon to find them strolling around Main Street or in the resort hotels. I loved saying hi to Mickey in his Christmas hat and sweater.

The garlands, trees and classic decor are all spectacular!

And, of course, Sleeping Beauty Castle glistens with snow, icicles, garlands, bows and ornaments.

If you love Christmas, you will be absolutely WOWED by it’s a small world this time of year. It was just wonderful and I so wish that we had this level of holiday spirit in Orlando.

Likewise, Haunted Mansion Holiday is jaw dropping! They transform every inch of the attraction into a Nightmare Before Christmas wonderland where Halloween and Christmas collide.

I couldn’t resist treating myself to a Santa macaroon. This is found at Jolly Holiday Bakery on Main Street.

At night, the park glistens with twinkle lights! I love that in Walt’s apartment over the Fire Dept the lamp that is always left burning has been replaced with a Christmas tree. <3

Disney California Adventure Theme Park

Over in Disney California Adventure, more Christmas magic awaits!

Cars Land is absolutely incredible every day of the year, and the Christmas decorations are a cherry on top!

Disneyland also has a Festival of the Holidays with specialty food in this park.

You will find cute vintage decorations along Hollywood Boulevard.

And, like the park just across the plaza, at night it comes alive with Christmas spirit!

It’s not too soon to plan YOUR holiday trip to the Disneyland Resort for 2019! I am booking now for arrivals through 12/31/19. Between now and then, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is also opening in Disneyland Park, so that is yet another reason to visit. For lowest holiday crowds, plan your visit in mid-November or early-December. Of course, Disneyland’s MaxPass benefit makes visiting even during peak travel dates do-able.

Have a safe and happy New Year and look for tons more Disneyland content in 2019!
