Two Years of Glass Slipper Concierge

About two years + 1 week ago, I left my 19 year career at The Coca-Cola Company to chase down dreams. And two yeas ago I signed on the dotted line to become an an independent consultant with Glass Slipper Concierge, an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner!

Last year, on my one year anniversary, I was promoted to Gold Key Advisor. This was something I set my sights on from day one and an achievement that makes me smile to this day. It is a title given to a few recognized for providing the highest level of customer service, experience, and knowledge in the industry and something that I work so hard to maintain! I’ve got my sights set on the next big promotion already so keep your fingers and toes crossed for me on that. <3

In the last two years, and mostly in the last year, I have planned over 300 magical vacations to the Walt Disney World Resort and almost 100 voyages on Disney Cruise Line. I’ve sent countless families to the Disneyland Resort, Disneyland Paris, Disney Aulani in Hawaii, SeaWorld and Universal. Some of my favorites have been my Adventures by Disney travelers, which have visited Italy, Norway, Ireland, South Africa, Scotland, England and France! Speaking of the rest of the world, I’ve had the pleasure of planning everything from Rhine and Mediterranean cruises, to specialty custom VIP itineraries to Northern California, Greece and the Pacific Northwest, to luxury stays in Paris, Mexico, Canada, DC, Palmetto Bluff, New Orleans, New York, Hawaii, Rhode Island and everywhere between. What a ride!

I have learned so much and worked harder than I’ve ever worked in my life. Going from part time at Coke to full time travel advisor was not without its challenges and I cannot thank Honey, my family, my travel mentor KA, and my fellow agents for believing in me every step of the way. I am often up by 5:45 AM working, take a break while the kids come home from 2:30 – 4:30 and then at it again. This is a 365 days a year job, and I am hoping to take my first actual week off in 2 years when we go to Alaska – only because I don’t know how I could reliably work from a boat in the middle of Alaska. HA! But, most days I get to do it at home, throw in some laundry and dinner between calls, and have my sweet Elsa girl by my side all the while.

The Glass Slipper girls are some the hardest working people I’ve ever known but they’ve also perfected living the luxury travel life! :-) The past two years have included official VIP-style business trips to Disney World (multiple!), Disneyland, Universal Orlando and Germany! And, the perks for our own personal travels are also fantastic.

I’ve made some unbelievable friends in this business, that share a passion for travel and Disney. I’m in good company for sure!

Last but not least, this post wouldn’t be complete without a HUGE thank you to ALL of the Dixie Delights readers that have trusted their family vacations to me. It is such a treat every time I open an email or consult form from one of you that starts “I read your blog…” and it has been so incredible to finally get to know some of you and your families through travel.

Now, it’s back to work for me… with a heartfelt THANK YOU to you! :-)

  1. I can’t believe it’s been two years, but I’m not the least surprised you are so successful! “Do what you love and you will never ‘work’ a day in your life” certainly applies to you. Following along on your trips throughput the years has been so fun and informative, and I’m looking forward to experiencing Alaska through your eyes. Congratulations on a wonderful new career!

  2. Two years already! Congratulations on your accomplishments – this seems like the perfect job for you! xo

  3. Congratulations, Amanda! I am impressed with all the success you have had so far! Like I think I have said before, this is the perfect job for you with all of your Disney expertise! I had thought about a travel career many times but always hesitated because my work background was in finance. I admire the way you just went for it. Cheers to you!
