Droid Depot Experience in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

On the edge of the galaxy, between the Unknown Regions and Wild Space, there is a long-forgotten planet named Batuu. And now, you can live your adventure that galaxy not so far, far away! The immersive new land is full of incredible shopping, dining, attractions, characters and experience. One of which is Droid Depot!

Assemble a Custom Astromech Unit

Inside, you will find a workshop stocked with parts, chips, manuals and other tech items useful for constructing your very own droid!

STEP 1: Choose Your Droid Style

First you will speak with a Droid Depot clerk and choose your preference of a BB- or R-series droid. You will then receive a basket and the blueprint for your droid.

STEP 2: Customize Your Droid Parts

The Parts Station is a conveyor belt loaded with a variety of components used to build your droid. You can customize the colors and look of your future sidekick!

STEP 3: Build Your Droid

Empty your basket of parts and follow the droid assembly instructions. It is easy enough for a kid to do! Honey did offer a little assistance with the drill on a tricky screw.

In the final step, your Droid Depot clerk will pair the droid with a remote control as you watch it come to life!

At the conclusion of the experience you will have the opportunity to purchase additional accessories. My boys each chose a personality chip – one a smuggler and one the resistance. The droids interact with each other (be sure you know how to turn them off) AND with the Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge land! They are the coolest souvenirs my boys have ever carried home!

If you go…

  • The cost is $99.99 per astromech droid unit, plus tax. No passholder or other discounts are offered.
  • A carry box and instructions included. However, the droids are quite bulky so it is worth considering having them held at the front of the park for pick up or delivered back to your resort hotel.
  • The experience area is limited to the builder and one Guest—at least one person in the party must be age 14 or older. Only the builder will be allowed to build a droid; the Guest of the builder may not build a droid.
  • Reservations for Droid Depot are highly recommended and can be made up to 180 days in advance. I make these for all of my interested clients to ensure they fit well into their Disney day!
