Musings

I’ve been loving the Bear Brook podcast. It is a cold case that is well told and easy to get hooked on. I like it so much that I am only allowing myself to listen while exercising. Hence, why I am only on episode 3 a week in. If you have any good new podcasts to share, do so in the comments!

The weather has been gloriously fall-ish and I pulled Elsa Belle’s sweater out of her bin. Look at that cute baby!

I had such high hopes for these pumpkin chocolate chunk oatmeal cookies. They were a solid meh. I ended up sending the whole pan down to the basement for John and his friends working on a school project. Teenage boys are NOT picky.

Now, what IS fantastic is this Gala blend apple cider. I found it at Target and it is my favorite cider I’ve ever had! I stocked up on a few more to enjoy when we have company this weekend and over Thanksgiving.

Look at this baby. John’s pumpkin book report in first grade.

And, flash forward seven years to his orchestra concert. He plays the cello. :-)

I posted my first ever poll in Instastories and it was fun to see the results roll in. The question asked was “do you buy bananas and hope nobody will eat them so that you will be forced to make banana bread?” LOL.

This was what Sister sent me. She speaks truth. Somehow she always turns up just when I’ve made something delicious. :-)

I have loved banana bread my whole life and have tried countless recipes. This one is my favorite and I will never try another one again…

While on the subject of food, I made these sour cream enchiladas this week. They are SO so so so so good. Also from the Magnolia Table cookbook.

My beautiful cousin is getting married in January and we are absolutely thrilled!!!! Not only do we love the man she’s marrying, but we cannot wait to see all of the family after the new year.

Whit and I are off to see the Addam’s Family tonight! Have a wonderful weekend!

  1. Bear Brook was so SO good! I really enjoyed it! Recently, I’ve listened to The Long Dance and the latest season of Crimetown. And I just started Emma Fillipoff is missing.

  2. Truth & Justice, Uncover, True Crime Garage, The First Degree, The Murder Squad, Have you seen this Man, Culpable and True Crime Bullshit. I will say that is not even close to all the ones I listen to, but I was a paralegal in my former life. The best podcast that I have ever listened to so far is True Crime Bullshit, which is about the serial killer Israel Keyes. He is one scary dude!!

  3. Fourth vote for Culpable, a murder which took place in my hometown of Meridian, MS. Full of interviews with locals, and many twists and turns. It is spellbinding!
