When we were at Disney back in January celebrating JuJu’s 70th birthday, the adults had a delicious night out at La Hacienda de San Angel for the first time! The restaurant is situated right on the World Showcase lagoon and serves authentic Mexican cuisine and premium margaritas.
We started out the night with margaritas, naturally. I had the Pina Loco – “Gracias a Dios” espadín blanco mezcal, maraschino cherry liqueur, pineapple, fresh lime juice, mint cordial, black ant salt rim – and it was absolutely memorable. Our starters included guacamole and queso fundito, both of which were fantastic.
After much debate, for entrees Honey and I shared the La Hacienda for 2. The platter included Grilled New York Strip, Pastor-marinated Organic Chicken Breast and Chorizo served with Vegetables and Esquites. It was delicious and SO much food! We ended up taking a box home for the boy’s midnight snack. JuJu had the Ensalada de la Hacienda and Crema de Elote (corn soup). She said both were wonderful. I had a bite of the corn soup and will definitely get that next time!
We had a reservation around 8 PM and loved seeing some of the Epcot Forever show from the dining room! This wouldn’t be a replacement for seeing it in person, but was a lovely way to end a delicious meal.
Compared to San Angel Inn sit down dining in Mexico, Honey and I both prefer La Hacienda de San Angel! We’ve been wanting to try it for comparison purposes for some time and are glad we finally did.
I definitely recommend having an advance dining reservation for any sit down meals, La Hacienda de San Angel included. This one is one credit on the Disney Dining Plan and a good use of that credit.
