I’ve had a visit to Doughnut Dollies on my foodie bucket list for a long, long time. Honey finally made my breakfast dreams come true when he suggested we venture out this past weekend.
There are two locations in Atlanta, in Midtown and Marietta. As soon as we walked inside I knew we were in for a treat!! The doughnuts are available each morning only until they sell out but, even with a rather late arrival, we managed to find 8 incredible options. :-)
There are no artificial ingredients, colors, extenders or preservatives in our doughnuts. We even use organic non-GMO sunflower seed oil for cooking our doughnuts. They are made fresh every morning and meant to be eaten right away. Our yeast doughnuts are made with our own 24 Hour Brioche dough, that has real whole butter, sugar, custom blended flour and eggs. The dough then achieves its’ developed flavor from a long, slow, cold 24 hour fermentation process. Our cake doughnuts are mixed fresh and hand rolled every morning.
My favorite was a cream cheese strawberry frosted doughnut, but the s’mores, vanilla bean glazed, sour cream old fashioned, and birthday cake were also amazing! We cut all of them into fourths and had a sampling. Nobody could choose just one. They really were some of the freshest, most delectable, not too sugary sweet doughnuts (excluding birthday cake) we’ve had.
We’ve recently tried a couple other new spots in town and look forward to sharing!
