Taste of Epcot International Food & Wine Festival 2020

The Epcot International Food & Wine Festival is one of my family’s favorite Disney events and we were thrilled to see the Walt Disney World resort would reopen with this year’s festival in full swing!

Taste of Epcot 2020

The Taste of Epcot celebrates the best of the annual Flower & Garden and Food & Wine Festivals in one event. Outdoor kitchens with specialty food and beverages from all over the world are set up around the World Showcase. Live entertainment happens daily in the American Gardens outdoor theater. Kids of all ages can participate in Remy’s Hide & Squeak scavenger hunt. And, there are a few of the amazing topiaries around the park.

Best of all, Disney has examined every detail of the guest experience for safety and magic. You will find little to no lines, tons of hand sanitizer and hand washing stations, and more tables to enjoy your eats and sips than ever before!

This year’s passport is all online on the Disney World app. We spent a Saturday evening strolling the festival for our dinner. Because all four of us eat, we get to try so many different things!

Taste of Epcot 2020 Favorites

Here’s a summary of our favorites from this year.  We usually don’t get two of anything, and each just take a sample bite of everything so that we don’t fill up!

Earth Eats – Impossible Meatball, Violet Lemonade Ale, Chocolate Terrarium

Mexico – Mango Margarita

China – Potstickers

Japan – Sushi Flowerpot

Festival Favorites – Kielbasa and Potato Pierogi (also live entertainment and air conditioning!)

Mac & Cheese – Boursin and Lobster, Radler Zitrone

Canada – Cheddar Cheese Soup & Blackberry Beer

Hawaii – Pork Slider & Pineapple Wheat Beer

Safety Measures

Safety and health protocols specific to Taste of Epcot include:

  • Temperature check on arrival
  • Touch free security and admission
  • Touch free utensil dispensers
  • Trash cans propped open
  • Hand washing stations in park
  • Hand sanitizer at every outdoor kitchen
  • Masks required unless stationary while eating and drinking
  • Plenty of tables to sit and enjoy the festival (NO more rushing from booth to booth and eating while walking)
  • Limited capacity for park guests

Walt Disney World Reopening

For even more details, I shared countless examples of the way that Disney examined every step of the guest experience with a lens of health and safety. All of the new policies and precautions are flawlessly integrated and make it easy to have a fun and memorable vacation experience. You can catch up on all of that here:

Epcot Reopening

Not only can you now do Food & Wine Festival in a few hours, but in a single day you can also do all of the attractions! Our average wait time was about 15 minutes. Most rides have a walk on. Nearly all rides in all parks overstated the wait time.

Let’s Travel & My Services

I have enjoyed hearing from all of you in Instagram and now on the blog… those ready to book a new trip, those that had decided to go on trips already booked and those that aren’t ready to travel but enjoyed having a little magic in their feed.

If you’d like to see videos, photos and my explanations of both safety and magic at Walt Disney World, head over to the Dixie Travels Instagram. Once on my profile page, look for the circles called “highlights”. Safety protocols are primarily captured under “wdw reopens” and then you can click on the circle for each park to see the magic!

We were absolutely blown away by the thoughtful, practical and comprehensive precautions Disney has in place to safely welcome guests and cast members. I don’t have all of the words to convey how special it felt to be back. We laughed, we played, we ate too much, and we felt a level of happiness we hadn’t had in too long. I can assure you, magic is here!

I have missed my job so, so much over the past four months and am thrilled to be back in the business of making magic! Most aspects of planning a Disney vacation look different and now, more than ever, it is crucial to have the most current, up to date information based on personal experience to plan your vacation!  I know these parks inside and out and am a small, one woman show. I hope that my love and passion for Disney shows through in every photo, video and post.

When the time is right for your family to travel, I’d be honored to be YOUR advisor. Magic is here!
