One of my incredible neighbors organized a morning of Java Joy a few weeks ago! Java Joy employs adults with disabilities, with the remarkable vision to become the largest employer of adults with developmental disabilities in the United States.
Java Joy is available in three Georgia cities (Athens, Atlanta, Rome) to set up their mobile cart while Joyristas serve coffee, breakfast, swag and transformative JOY for around 90 minutes!
You can submit an online request for them to visit your neighborhood. Once accepted, they send a pre-order link ahead of time for safe, contactless transactions when they arrive.
The Joyristas spread joy from their Java Joy cart maintain a safe social distance from customers. They also ask for customers to stay 6-feet apart, wear appropriate face masks, and order in advance.
Java Joy was born out of the unique ability of people with disabilities to change someone’s day and put a smile on their face, in a way that few other experiences can. I can assure you, that Java Joy brought a LOT of JOY to our family that Sunday morning! I’m hoping to have them to our driveway come Spring!
