Sister and I stole away to Disney World for two nights two weeks ago to see and do all the Christmas things!! We used to always bring our families down in December but sports, school, Nutcracker and more grown up commitments for the kids made this the first year neither of us could swing it. And so, we went together!
The HUGE highlight of our trip was the Very Merriest After Hours Event in Magic Kingdom. My review of the Halloween after hours event was so-so, but Christmas was absolutely amazing and I highly recommend it!!! But first… we started our evening with apps and drinks since the party doesn’t kick off until 9PM.
The evening service in the Animal Kingdom Lodge concierge lounge is amazing! We started there.
Our next stop kicked off the monorail crawl part of the night. We enjoyed a bite and sips at the new Steakhouse 71 lounge at Contemporary.
Continuing to Polynesian, we shared a Lilikoi juice and chocolate covered bacon and strawberries.
And, at Grand Floridian we indulged in the gingerbread!
It was finally time for the party!
From the moment we stepped on to a snowy Main Street USA until our heads crashed on our pillows at 2AM, we had a blast! All of the rides were a near walk on, but it was really the other festivities that had us grinning all night long!
The Christmas decor, snow, music and cheer on Main Street brought a tear to my eye. It is just SO festive! We picked up our hot cocoa and snickerdoodles and just soaked it all in.
We watched BOTH full length Once Upon a Christmastime Parades. It was wonderful to have a real parade back in the park, and this one is my favorite of all time. I do have a few clients attending After Hours, and a few there in the days before Christmas and hope all of you set aside time to see it!!
The event also marked the return of the first full length stage show. Singing, dancing, fireworks and holiday cheer abound! We caught Mickey & Minnie’s Very Merry Memories twice during the night!!
Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks Show once again lit up the night! I absolutely love this show, with the holiday songs and projections on the castle. We couldn’t help but sing along!
I have absolutely nothing bad to say about this event. It was spectacular and was the perfect way to kick off the holidays. My only regret is that the boys didn’t get to attend!
