We enjoyed a wonderful, relaxing day that started with the parade and Hallmark…
Our own 5k trot with the turkey…
… and ended at the home of dear friends with an incredible meal.
Taylor made his bread and Whit made his cheesecake. These two are 7 years apart in age, but are quite similar.
Laurie and Mark made an absolute feast. Everything was delicious! It was so much fun to learn about their Thanksgiving traditions – including the yummy mirliton squash and eating of the turkey skin :-)
There is no gesture more special to me than being invited to share a meal in a friend’s home, particularly on such a special occasion. <3
I hope that you and yours enjoyed a wonderful day – whether your gathering was large or small, if you traveled or stayed home, if you cooked or just heated up leftovers. I am thankful for each and every one of you!

Please tell Whit I made his maple cheesecake for our Thanksgiving get together with family and friends yesterday and it was a huge hit!! My brother called me today and requested that I make it again for Christmas dinner at our Mother’s. It really was delicious and Whit hit a culinary home run with this recipe. Thanks for sharing!
