Deer Valley Utah {Montage Deer Valley Resort}

We had the incredible pleasure of calling Montage Deer Valley home for our Utah ski trip. I’ve shared bits and pieces of our incredible stay. We knew we were in for an absolute treat as we winded mountain roads and this came into view.

Inside the resort is a luxury alpine retreat. With my work, we stay in a number of luxury hotels and I Montage is my favorite. It is refined, but so approachable and extremely family friendly.

The Summit Lounge is where you will find coffee by morning and a hub of activity by evening. We enjoyed happy hours here, along with live music and a roaring fire place each day of our stay.

There are two quiet fireplace rooms where guests were often found reading a book and sipping a hot beverage. I love finding little places like this at resorts.

There are five restaurants at the resort and we enjoyed four of them! Service and ambiance at all of them were excellent. First was Burgers and Bourbon. They excelled on burgers and we didn’t try the bourbon. :-) This was a great casual, family friendly meal.

Apex is the fine dining option and I enjoyed a lunch here for one while the boys skied one day! It was a picturesque mountain experience – with views of the slopes from the window and a crackling fireplace at my table. Dinner time is a steakhouse experience.

Daly’s Pub and Rec is on the lower level and we got take out for the boys there one night, and dined in as a family on another night. I left my phone in the room, but it was a fun, casual, family friendly meal after a long day on the slopes. They have pub fare food, bowling lanes, darts, playstations, foosball and more. The boys loved it!

Buzz is the coffee and pastry bar. We ate here one morning, and did room service on the other days. It was convenient and nice.

As far as resort activities, we enjoyed gourmet s’mores and hot cocoa every afternoon at 4:30 PM. Montage always has the best homemade marshmallows – we loved this activity when we stayed at Montage Palmetto Bluff too!

There is a huge tubing hill at the resort open daily from 3-5pm. Before s’mores, we took a daily family slide down the hill. SO.MUCH.FUN. We screamed, squealed and collapsed in laughter pretty much every time.

I had lift tickets for two of our four days. I spent my two resort days simply enjoying the resort! I used the gym both days (soaking in the incredible views from my tread), and had a spa experience on the last day. It was phenomenal!

As far as ski services, Compass Sports is located right in the resort. They outfit you in all of the gear and store it for you each night. The resort is ski in/ski out and this couldn’t be more convenient. The best part? They even put your boots on in the morning and remove them in the evening. Heaven!

For families with kids in ski school, you simply drop them at Compass Sports in the morning and retrieve them in the afternoon. Couldn’t be easier! They suit them up, teach them to ski, feed them lunch and handle every detail.

As you might imagine, one of the birthday boy’s favorite activities of all was meeting Monty each week day in the lobby at 3PM. The ambassador dog was full of love, snuggles and licks.

Let’s take a moment to talk about our room now!! With my work and blog, we were upgraded to a Vista View Two Bedroom Suite. Oh my, it was AMAZING!!! We were just in awe as we walked in on arrival night. There was a huge living and dining room with comfortable seating for 8. We had a wonderful fireplace and the most incredible views of the mountain and scenery.

They left the sweetest treats for Whit’s 13th birthday, and more goodies for the family!

The gourmet kitchen had luxury appliances and all of the amenities of home. The best part of all was that they refilled our fridge with drinks each day!

Our king bedroom was stunning and so comfy! The fireplace was gorgeous and extremely toasty and we loved waking up to mountain views each morning. The bathroom had a steam shower and heated floors. I could really get used to those two features.

The boys had their own bedroom with two queen beds on the other side of the living room. There was an en suite bathroom and a third full bathroom in the hallway. (Along with a laundry room)

Our private patio out back had a table and chairs, two chaise loungers, fire pit AND our very own hot tub that we enjoyed daily.

It was a trip like none other and we were treated so handsomely. Happy 13th Birthday, Whit!! And MANY thanks to Montage Deer Valley for an incredible and memorable stay.
