Valentine’s Day Fun {Some Sweet Decor}

I love adding a few sweet touches to my decor for Valentine’s Day. It helps make the dreary winter days seem a little more cheerful.

The foyer is full of fun things Mother sent for Valentine’s Day over the years. Last year she sent the hand painted garland, and the two heart canvases were from previous years. A bowl of conversation hearts and a few pink roses (admittedly on their last leg) complete the entry.

In the den I added Valentine’s candy and more pink roses. Little Anna Dasher ended up eating the entire bowl of heart jelly beans and shredding the roses when left unattended for a few minutes. Elsa can go to town on some meat or bread, but she’s never once touched the seasonal candy.

The rose candle is new and smells amazing even when not lit!

Over at the banquette I set up an old Valentine’s tic tac toe game and more candy. I have been using these plastic jars for a few months for various things and love them. My boys can be hard on glass. They do everything with extreme force, and have no idea that they are doing it.

In the kitchen I am using my Happy Everything attachments. Mother gave me the glass jar on the far left from my grandma’s house. Sister got a similar one years ago and I’ve been jealous ever since. Glad they managed to dig up another one. :-)

The coffee bar serves hot coffee by morning, iced lattes by afternoon and hot chocolates by evening. :-) It was a lot of fun to set it up with all the cute Valentine’s things. The jars are from the same plastic set linked above. I love love love my coffee maker and have only been to Starbucks ONCE since I got it last fall.

I bought the heart straws last year, but they come in a huge set and I had plenty left.

A couple of decorative hand towels hang from the oven.

A few more roses, a preserved rose and candy are an easy centerpiece for the kitchen table. I like to keep the decor limited to what will fit on a tray so that I can easily move it when we eat.

Last but not least, the heart pillow and garland were from Target a few years ago.

Happy Valentine’s Day!
