Honey and I stole away Disney World for one night before our Disney Cruise to kick off the season in my favorite way – Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party!! While I certainly miss those precious years when we would pull the boys out of school to celebrate their joint birthdays in Disney World, school, sports and a job all make it too hard these days. That said, it was such a FUN treat to enjoy the night as two “never grow up” adults doing just as we pleased.
I found out just a couple days prior that two of my travel besties would also be in town, also staying at Grand Floridian, and also attending the party!!
I was so excited for Honey to see them. We started our evening at Enchanted Rose, my favorite lounge in all of Disney.
We headed into the party together, took a few pics and then went our separate ways.
From the moment we stepped on to a snowy Main Street USA until our heads crashed on our pillows at 2AM, we had a blast! All of the rides were a near walk on, but it was really the other festivities that had us grinning all night long!
The Christmas decor, snow, music and cheer on Main Street never fails to bring a tear to my eye. It is just SO festive! We picked up our hot cocoa and snickerdoodles – you’ll find different treats all around the park – and just soaked it all in.
We watched the later parade in its entirety, having no trouble snagging a great spot right on Main Street. This is hands down my top thing ever to see / do at Disney. I love it so much.
The Christmas stage show is another very merry favorite. Singing, dancing, fireworks and holiday cheer abound! It runs throughout the night so there are plenty of opportunities to catch it.
Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks Show lit up the night, and we splurged on a dessert party for the event! I absolutely love this show, with the holiday songs and projections on the castle. We couldn’t help but sing along, while sipping prosecco to boot. Tink flew right over our heads and I couldn’t help but marvel at the feeling our night was truly pixie dusted.
There are a number of special characters out to meet, including Santa. But we prioritized our favorites – Jack and Sally!
I’ve shared a number of our “magic shots” in this post, so I’m sure it comes as no surprise that we made a point to do as many as possible!
While I regret the boys didn’t get to attend, I absolutely loved spending time with this guy. <3
