Late Summer Doors

I’ve had my fun, fishy door hangers out since the patriotic decor came down. I finally took a moment to snap some pics knowing that our school things will be going up in a matter of days.

We did a lot of landscaping this month, tearing out the diseased shrubs in front of the front windows. It looks a little sparse now, but should grow in low and nice over the next couple of years. We will add a few more things in the fall when the temps cool off. I also want to add annuals coming up to the front door but, again, will start that when the pansies come out. It’s enough of a chore trying to keep the new things we have alive in this heat.

Over at the side door I have Mr. Crab Leg – an old DIY project of Mother’s.  I love his cheerful pop of color on the blue door.

We have a fun, busy weekend ahead with freshman orientation for Whit and a fundraiser ball for John’s school’s football team.

  1. Here’s a Disney question…. What is your transportation of choice in Disney World when you don’t drive your own car?

      1. Thanks for the airport info!!! I had forgotten that Disney isn’t doing busses from the airport! I’m accompanying my daughter and her 5 year old. She is there for a government conference so most all the arrangements are made by the conference. Grandson and I will be on our own during the day and I was wondering what the best means of transportation from hotel to parks would be. We are staying at the Coronado Springs. I think the regular park buses will be a longer ride than we might want. I’ve read a little about the Minnie Vans, but wondering if something else is available or better.
I love following you and your family on all your adventures and hope to use your travel services in the future. Also enjoy your tips on the blog! You do such a nice job with it all!!!
        Many Thanks!
