Honey and I have both been to Paris, but never together. We arrived on Sunday around lunch and had departed for Versailles Wednesday morning. That left us two full days to enjoy Paris. And enjoy we did! Here are some of our highlights.

Sunday

Our driver picked us up at Charles de Galle and left us at our beautiful boutique hotel – Esprit St. Germain. It was so fabulous that I will share all the details tomorrow.

We took a power nap for a couple of hours, got dressed and then enjoyed a Seine River Dinner Cruise. Esprit St. Germain offers a complimentary bar and we enjoyed a glass of bubbles in the fireplace room before heading out.

This turned out to be our favorite night in the City of Light. It was romantic, decadent and an absolutely 5* way to start the trip.

Our driver was waiting for us at the dock to whisk us back to the hotel. This evening was a dream.

Monday

Our morning started with a delicious breakfast in the library room of the hotel, and cappuccinos on our private verandah.

We spent the morning on a private TukTuk tour of the city, which was such a fun way to see the landmarks and learn more about the history of Paris. While our driver made all the Emily in Paris stops for me, he stuck to things of historical significance for Honey. :-)

He left us for lunch at Cafe Marly, in the courtyard of the Louvre. It was a spectacular lunch that we thoroughly enjoyed.

Our private guide for an afternoon at the Louvre met us right at the restaurant and walked us through an expedited line into the museum. We had provided our wishes and he expertly wove the most fascinating tour together for our three hours. It was a truly exceptional way to see the museum and was a highlight for both of us!

After a rest at the hotel, we walked to dinner at Cafe de Flores. There’s not much I love more than a cozy cafe with delicious food and excellent people watching. Oh, and the hot chocolate is just to die for.

We ended our spectacular day enjoying glasses of wine on our verandah while the sun set over Paris.

Tuesday

We were up bright and early for a private photo shoot. It was so much fun and we have the most incredible photos as our only souvenirs from the trip. I cannot wait to share more!

After the photos, we enjoyed a private tour of the Eiffel Tower, including the summit. Our guide shared so much marvelous information about the construction and history of the Tower and whisked us through lines and elevators to maximize our time. Champagne and macarons at the top were magic.

After the tour, our guide put us in a taxi to lunch at Chez Julien. If you love Emily in Paris, this will look familiar to you.

We walked back to St Germain, taking time to explore the shops and markets in the Latin Quarter. Fromagerie Laurent Dubois was recommended to us as the best cheese shop in Paris so we picked out some goodies to bring home! All of the shops around here were divine!

After an afternoon nap, we walked back out to Les Deux Magots for dinner. Again, it was an absolutely perfect Paris evening.

The concierge at Esprit St. Germain made us a late night picnic and called us a cab to the Eiffel Tower. We spent our last night in Paris under the twinkling lights of the Tower watching the city go by. It was truly magic.

Wednesday

We slept in, enjoyed a hot breakfast in the library of the hotel and were on our way. The hotel packed us waters and biscuits for the road, which was just the sweetest touch.
