After much anticipation, we were thrilled to try Shiki-Sai: Sushi Izakaya in Epcot last month. This new restaurant in the Japan pavilion offers delicious food, a beautiful setting, attentive service and marvelous views. In short, we can’t wait to go back!
Shiki-Sai is inspired by the spirit of Japan’s vibrant seasonal festivals. A cultural representative from Japan will guide you through each unique festival experience, one bite at a time. You’ll participate in Tanabata festivities during the summer, savor moon-viewing dumplings in the autumn, and so much more.
The restaurant is beautifully decorated, and located on the second level of the main building in Japan, with resplendent views of Epcot.
I was giddy as we sat down at our table.
Izakaya is a traditional gastropub, where friends and family come together to share the joy of one another’s company as well as a variety of dishes.
We started with sushi and sake, both of which were delicious and presented beautifully.
Our cultural representative suggested that we select an assortment of delicacies to share for an authentic Izakaya experience – and we did just that!
At the end of our meal, we were invited to each write a traditional Japanese Haiku to hang on the autumn tree. It was such a fun end to our meal – we all loved Honey’s the most, but I failed to get a photo of it!
We can’t wait to go back. I have a feeling this one will become a staple for us!
