This weekend I had the luxury to get away for two nights with two of my oldest friends. We stayed at a family cabin in the North Georgia mountains that I’ve been fortunate enough to visit a number of times over the last three decades.
We spent most of our time in comfy clothes, sipping on buckets of coffee by day and wine by night. We did go out into town for a dinner the first night and lunch on Saturday.
A highlight was our day at Serenity in the Mountains Spa. I visited years ago, but they have expanded and the entire experience was just so wonderful. We caught them the very last day they were decorated for Christmas and it was magic!
I’ll be forever grateful for these friends. We’ve been together through school and boys and weddings and miscarriages and babies and jobs and life. I always think back to the Girl Scout song about friends – make new friends but keep the old. There is wisdom in that.
