We had a quick visit from John last weekend and, in short, it was simply the best. As much as he loves Auburn, it was undeniable how much he savored being back home. He didn’t leave our house at all. I fed him like it was my job. I fluffed every inch of his room for his arrival. I did his laundry. We enjoyed morning coffee in the hot tub, dinners cooked on the Blackstone, and bagels from his favorite local jaunt. We gathered supplies for a fraternity project and Honey helped him with the saw. The puppies wouldn’t leave his side. He ate, napped and regaled all of us with tales from college.
I thought visiting him in Auburn was the best. I now understand that having him home beats all. Counting down until our next visit…
