Yesterday I shared all the details of Honey’s Tacos & Tequila 50th birthday bash, and today I’m back with a peek at the people who made it extra special – our incredible circle of family and friends who came to celebrate our guy!
Many thanks to everyone who texted over photos from the night. You helped me capture the spirit of the evening in all its festive, funny, and heartfelt glory.
Now, about that cake cutting. Here’s how it started….
… and here’s how it ended. John wrestling his dad into the pool and Honey trying to turn his birthday into a recreation of our wedding cake cutting (our anniversary was the following day). Lord help me.
All I had hoped for was one perfect family photo from the night. Just one! What I got instead was Honey soaking wet and John shirtless. Not exactly the vibe I had in mind, but honestly, it’s a hilariously accurate snapshot of a night we’ll never forget. And this, my friends, is exactly why I book a professional photographer and schedule our family photos every year.
And then the photo booth! I was a little nervous it might go unused. But as the night wore on (and the margarita pitchers wore down), it became the hot spot of the evening. The pictures are pure gold and full of so much joy.
It truly was a special night for a special guy. I’ve always said Honey is easy to celebrate and even easier to love, and after thirty years, that sentiment couldn’t be more true.
