I recently wrapped up the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas, and I can honestly say it’s one of the best series I’ve read. This is s strong statement… maybe the best since Harry Potter. I devoured book after book over the course of the spring and summer, and found myself missing the lead characters the moment I closed the final chapter.

The world Maas creates is sprawling and complex, and the depth she gives each character is masterful. Watching them evolve – grow braver, darker, wiser – kept me turning pages late into the night. It starts a bit slow (don’t give up!), but builds to such a crescendo that by the middle books I simply could not put it down.
A highlight of the reading experience for me was doing the “tandem read” for Empire of Storms and Tower of Dawn. A friend tipped me off to this genius approach. You read the two books in an interwoven order so the timelines line up perfectly. Tower of Dawn had a few yawn moments for me, but reading them together brought both books to life in a whole new way. (Pro tip: there are lots of cute tandem read bookmarks on Etsy if you’d like to try it too!)

If you love epic fantasy, layered plots, and characters you’ll genuinely miss when the story is over, Throne of Glass is a must. It’s perfect for sinking into on long summer days or cozy nights in. I only wish I could read it again for the first time!
Have you read it? I’d love to hear your thoughts! Honey is listening to the series now and I LOVE our convos every night.

I cried when it was over. Most nights I didn’t go to sleep until like 1 or 2 but it was so worth it. I borrowed the series from the library but I got the series for Christmas. When I got the series I cried a lot. I’ve like read the series three times now and I’ll read it a hundred times more.
