The Bones Birthday Tradition

For John’s sweet sixteen, Sister and her family took him to dinner at Bones Steakhouse, an Atlanta institution. They had such a marvelous time at this milestone age that we proclaimed it a rite of passage for all the cousins! In December, it was Whit’s turn, and just last month we had the honor of taking Jay.

We’re fortunate to gather as a family often, but one-on-one time with a niece or nephew is not always easy to pull off. We absolutely loved connecting with Jay over dinner, and it made my heart so happy to see the three boy cousins gathered around a table talking about school, video games, sports, drama, girls, the best cut of steak, and so much more.

Speaking of birthdays, I also must wish my very own Sister HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! As is often the case, she is traveling over her special day. For the last forty-seven years she is the one who made the good ol days great, makes the good days even brighter and and shows up to make the hard days not so daunting.
