If you’ve been around here a while, you’ll know Whit and I both have massive sweet tooths… but only for the really great, what I like to call “worth it” treats. This summer, we made it our mission to check a few new (and beloved old) spots off our little dessert bucket list around town.
At the very top of Whit’s list? Dubai Chocolate. He’s been borderline obsessed with trying it, so when he discovered that Sugar Shane’s offers a Dubai Chocolate Brownie, that was all he needed to know. He handled the entire mission, from the ordering to the pickup, while I waited at home in eager anticipation. Isn’t having a teenage driver delightful?!

Overall, we liked the cookies, with chocolate chip and s’mores being our two faves! They are huge, rich, and totally sharable. We both agreed they rank above Crumbl (which we enjoy but don’t crave). As for the Dubai Chocolate Brownie, we have to admit… it was a little bit of a letdown. The flavor was nice, but it didn’t quite live up to our sky high expectations after all the TikTok hype. That said, we somehow managed to “suffer” through and polish it off anyway.

If you’re a cookie lover, or just in need of a sweet fix, Sugar Shane’s is worth a visit. It’s the perfect stop for sharing (or not sharing… we won’t judge).

I’m also seeking out any and every Dubai chocolate treat around. I tried the Dubai brownie at Crumbl, and thought it was more sweet and toasty tasting than pistachio tasting. It’s not something I would go out of my way to get again. However, the Lindt Dubai chocolate bar is very good. I’ve only seen it at Target, and it’s pricy ($15!), but it’s the best Dubai treat I’ve had.
A friend gave us a piece from a bag at Costco and it was the best we’ve tried!
