Haunted Halloween Home Tour 2024 {Exterior}

Welcome, foolish mortals! Our haunted Halloween tour begins right where the frights and delights start… outside! The magic (and mischief) of the season greets guests before they even step through the door, with a mix of pumpkins, spiders, and friendly ghosts.

Front Porch Frights & Delights

The large spiders are a recurring favorite. I picked ours up at Michael’s (though Target carries similar ones). This is actually our second – the first lived a long and happy life before retiring after several years of service.

I love keeping the outside happy and cheerful for Halloween so that we don’t scare off any trick or treaters. Inside things get a little spookier each year as my boys get older. I’m trying mums again this year, with explicit care instructions provided by Mother.

You’ll also spot the mini mesh ghosts tucked into my ferns – those were a Michael’s find years ago. Sadly, I didn’t see them this season, but they’ve been such a fun addition. The Trick or Treaters Stop Here sign came from Target a couple of years ago. It lights up (always a hit with little visitors), and the reverse side says “Boo, Out of Candy.” Love it!

Ghostly Touches Along the Walk

The larger mesh ghosts from the same collection dot our sidewalk, creating a cheerful little haunted path. They store flat, which makes them easy to keep year after year. I like to keep the outdoor décor happy and inviting… just enough Halloween fun without spooking the trick-or-treaters.

Friends Entry Magic

Our side entry gets its own dose of festivity since it’s the door most used by family and friends. You might even spot my Christmas lights already in place and ready to roll… it’s all about those early signing discounts, right?

Like the ghost door hanger, the candy corn décor has been around for years, and those light-up jack-o’-lanterns (also from Target) are oldies but goodies. They last forever, I just replace a bulb here and there.

I also added one ghost down by our Little Free Library and mailbox… a fun surprise for our neighborhood walkers!

I love keeping our Halloween home cheerful and family-friendly on the outside — while things get a little spookier inside each year as the boys get older.

Come back next week as we step inside for part two of the tour!
