Today’s stop on the Haunted Halloween Home Tour is the kitchen! It might just be my favorite room to decorate this time of year because it truly is the heart of our home.

While the den and living room lean a little spookier – with haunted portraits, bleeding silhouettes, and ghostly accessories – the kitchen is all about cute and cheerful Halloween. I love using many of my Mickey-inspired pieces in here for a friendly (and festive!) take on the season.

Swapping out just a few everyday items for holiday touches makes such a big impact. The little rug by the sink has been part of my Halloween collection for nearly twenty years… it takes all of thirty seconds to roll out, but it instantly makes the space feel festive. Even pulling an orange cookbook off the shelf counts in my book!

My Happy Everything frame gets a monthly refresh, and October is one of my favorites. Seasonal candy always sneaks its way into the decor too (purely decorative, of course). The plate is an old Target find.

I picked up this darling wallflower at Bath & Body Works a couple of years ago and was delighted to discover it projects bats on the wall! A tiny detail, but one that makes me smile! At the sink, I rely on my two Halloween standbys: seasonal soaps and dishtowels. This year’s pick is Pumpkin Spice from Williams Sonoma, and it smells divine.

I’ve loved this practical tray next to the stove with cooking essentials. I swap out the cookbook on display often. Orange seemed perfect for October!

The tombstone chalkboard has been in my collection for ages and is still perfect for the kitchen treat corner.

Fruit in seasonal colors is another practical and inexpensive way to decorate for the holidays. And, it makes for an easy at home snack and lunch box addition!

Our kitchen beverage bar is one of the best decisions we’ve made!

The floral arrangement is simple but bright – I tied ribbons on an old pumpkin container and used a large cup inside for the flowers, so nothing gets damaged. I used a paper runner and cut little shades for my LED lights from the roll.

Over at the coffee bar, a new tray and glass serving piece add a little sparkle, while my beloved Mickey ghost mugs (a Disney souvenir from years past) make another appearance. On the other side, my Happy Everything plate and Mickey Treat Bowl bring the charm.

I left the island clean and decor free this year – I cook most nights and really use it! The light-up Mickey and Minnie pumpkins from Publix practically jumped into my cart a few years ago! And, finally, my old Ballard Designs pumpkin shades add a fun and festive pop.

Just off the kitchen, the mudroom gets a touch of nostalgia with the boys’ old trick-or-treat bags – yes, I still put them out every year. Even the puppies get their own Halloween treats in a festive jar.

The next stop on the tour is the dining room!
