As seasons shift, so do our traditions… and this year’s Halloween reminded me that the fun doesn’t vanish when the kids grow up. It just changes shape, and oftentimes, it gets even sweeter.
We popped a giant bucket of candy on the front porch and kicked off the evening with a little pre-party at the H Home. Good friends, excited littles, fun food and the sense of neighborhood community we treasure.

Once the sun dipped, we piled into the trailer with music blasting and lights glowing, off to trick-or-treat our way through the neighborhood. It has been years since Honey and I have been the ones riding along, and oh my gosh… what a treat. I loved hugging neighbors, waving to familiar faces from driveways, and seeing so many of our friends’ kids who are suddenly very grown up.

Home again, we wrapped up the night with the original Dracula movie!
Meanwhile, our boys lived their own versions of Halloween. Whit headed to a party dressed as Barney Rubble. No pics to be had. John celebrated all week long in Auburn because college Halloweens are apparently a marathon, not a sprint.

And just like that, another October goes into the memory books. I’ll always treasure those days of tiny costumes and monogrammed treat buckets… but no matter the chapter, the magic remains.
Happy Halloween, friends!
